The plastic is easy yo determine, open it up ans you'll find markings, its probably PP (polypropylene), probably with glass fiber reinforcement. If it has glass in it, it'll have a number before/after the PP, perhaps even a 'GF' indicator. If its GFPP30+ then it is as strong as aluminum that is of the same thickness, but more flexible and wont oxidise, so a much better material. I used to design plastic tool housings for various brands, hence the knowledge.

yes, they have different voltage motors. Also, it is absolutely possible to get more power out of a motor by drawing from two batteries at once.

I have only ever used Paslode and Hikoki when doing work experience with carpenters. I'm attracted to the battery guns, particularly the Milwaukee one simply because it's narrower around the body than the Hikoki or indeed the Paslode, and I've been in situations before where the clunkiness and general size of the gun presents clearance problems. That being said, I've also had to skew nails at times and found it harder to do with battery guns than with Paslode ones due to how they're designed. The Milwaukee is a lot cheaper without even considering the cost of fuel cells, and Milwaukee is a platform I'd use for more specific tools such as impact wrenches or SDS drills. It's a pity Makita, one of the more commonly used tool brands in carpentry, don't make very many good nailers if any at all. Not shitting on Makita, but their speciality is just not in nail guns. It's more in saws, planers, impact drivers, drills, etc...

My DeWalts leak like horribly. I own the original 12”, 16”, the new 18” and 14” along with both pole saws and all but the 14” pour out all their oil if you leave it in the saw. I’ve gotten used to just draining my oil out of all my DeWalt saws. The biggest issue I have with the saws, other than oil leakage, is the difficulty it is finding spare chains as their sizes are odd. I have dropped a lot of trees over the years and cleaned 2 acres with a mix of gas and battery saws and everyone wended up loving the 16” original DeWalt for bucking on the ground with the 12” being perfect for up in a tree. Felling trees was OK for smaller trees with the 18” but we still stuck with gas for dropping most. I prefer the 9 Amp/Hour batteries as a good mix of power, weight, and run time vs. heat build up and with over a dozen and fast chargers you can cut a reasonable pace all day.

This was my first choice last month while considering the options, but was quickly dismissed in favor of one Japanese brand you may have hear of ;) mostly because of the thing you praise so much: polycarbonate deck. It's quite probably the filthiest plastic there is, that most likely will never be recycled, while the endocrine disruptors and other highly toxic "forever chemicals" used in its production will keep on causing havoc in any ecosystem it gets in touch with (including that of humans). PC should have been universally banned years ago (when it was banned for use for pipes or dishes in many developed countries), not pushed into new areas of application. And the second reason was that this is a Chinese company (Chervon Group (not Chevron ;)). I've no issues with stuff made in China but try avoiding purely Chinese companies.
